ACFPA's Mission Statement:
The mission of the Alameda County Foster Parent Association is to provide consistent, safe, quality care for the well being of foster children by providing support services and advocacy to Foster and Adoptive Families, Relative and Non-relative caregivers.
The Alameda Country Foster Parent Association is the charter member of the California State Foster Parent Association, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to empowering, supporting, educating and advocating for resource parents throughout the state.
Our local chapter serves foster and former foster parents, adoptive parents, kinship parents, relatives, caregivers, social workers, physicians, elected officials, and community members.
The Alameda County Foster Parent Association meets at the 1st United Methodist Church, 1600 Bancroft Ave, San Leandro, on the second Thursday of each month at 6 PM.
We host periodic continuing education courses on a variety of subjects, organize events for children in foster care and collect goods for distribution to children and resource parents in need.
